• On January 5 2011, the Galax Quartet with harpsichordist Jonathan Salzedo present a program of Spanish and Mexican music at the Stanford Memorial Hospital in Palo Alto, California. Featured are the 1776 Quintets (string quartet + keyboard) of Antonio Soler. The concert begins at 12:30 p.m. in the foyer of the Stanford Hospital at 701 Welch Rd, Palo Alto, CA.
• On May 1, 2011 at 4:00 p.m., the Galax Quartet with contralto Karen Clark will appear on the Russian River Chamber Music series. Highlighted are song cycles using Gary Snyder texts composed by Roy Whelden, Fred Frith, Robert Morris, W.A. Mathieu. This concert will offer the world premiere of a string quartet composed in 2010 by Mathieu, a work inspired in abstracto by the work of Mr. Snyder. This concert takes place at the Healdsburg Community Church, 1100 University Street, Healdsburg CA.
• On Cold Mountain—Songs on Poems of Gary Snyder, the first recording of the Galax Quartet, with the collaboration of contralto Karen Clark, will be released by Innova Records in March 2011. The recording will be released in early March in digital format on iTunes, Amazon.com and other digital media sites. March 29 sees the physical release in brick and mortar record stores.
